Vampire’s Dream

For those that crave the creepiness of Halloween, create a hair-raising mocktail that only a vampire would drool for after coming in from a night of trick or treating. The addition of our Ginger extract promotes circulatory warming and supports your digestive system. Garnish it with edible “eyeballs” for a spine-chilling but yummy surprise.*

Ingredients

Serves 1

¼ cup Tart Cherry juice, unsweetened

1 cup sparkling water

0.7 ml Herb Pharm Ginger liquid herbal extract

Optional "Eyeball" Garnishes:

1 can Lychee fruits, pitted, drained, and rinsed

5 Cherries, pitted and rinsed

5 Raisins

Alternative: 5 fresh Blueberries (instead of the Cherries and Raisins)

Optional Cherry Syrup

¼ cup Tart Cherry juice, unsweetened

¼ cup honey

1 dropper from an empty tincture bottle, any size

Instructions

  1. Drip the optional Cherry syrup on the inside of a glass, letting it run down the sides. (See below for the full instructions for optional steps 1 and 2).
  2. Add the optional desired number of “eyes”. We’ve found that five looks great in a tall glass!
  3. Add ¼ cup Tart Cherry juice to the glass and pour 1 cup of sparkling water on top.
  4. Add 1 serving of Ginger liquid herbal extract.
  5. Sip & get spooked!

Optional “Eyeball” Garnish Instructions:

  1. Stuff a Raisin inside of a Cherry to mimic the pupil and iris of the eye. Alternatively, you can use fresh Blueberries instead of Cherries and Rasins.
  2. Stuff the Cherries (or Blueberries) inside of the Lychee fruits to complete the “eyeball.”
  3. Repeat with the remaining fruits until you have a desired number of “eyes”.

Optional Cherry Syrup Instructions:

  1. Combine the Tart Cherry juice and honey in a small saucepan and heat on medium.
  2. Stir frequently to dissolve the honey. Turn the heat down to a simmer when almost boiling.
  3. Continue to stir as the liquid reduces to a thicker syrup.
  4. Remove from heat when the liquid is about the same thickness as Maple syrup.
  5. Once the syrup is cooled but still warm, use a clean dropper to draw up the Cherry syrup and release it touching the inside rim at the top of the glass. (If an extra dropper isn’t available, a small spoon also works.)
  6. Let it drip down the inside of the glass before drinking.

Tips:

  • Freeze the “eyeballs” beforehand to use them as an ice replacement to keep the drink extra cool and extra scary.
  • If you prefer an extra red boost in the syrup, add some vegetable-based red food coloring after removing it from heat.

One squeeze of the dropper equals 0.7 ml; provides approximately 1 serving of Herb Pharm liquid herbal extract.
