Where do your mushrooms come from?

All the organic mushroom fruiting bodies and mycelia used in our Mushroom Wellness products are grown in the U.S. at our indoor cultivation facility in Washington state. The organic brown rice we use as our substrate is grown in California.

A key point of difference between Mushroom Wellness and other brands is that we do not purchase our mushrooms and mycelial biomass from the open market. We grow, harvest, and process them ourselves! This hands-on approach allows us to meticulously track the progress of our cultivation, optimizing the harvest timing, and ensuring our products meet our strict standards for quality before leaving our facility.

Here’s a peek into our process:

• Our cultures have been hand-selected for the past 25 years, chosen for their vigorous growth and richness in beta-glucans.
• We patiently grow and carefully monitor our cultures for up to 14 weeks or more, choosing the ideal length of time for the growth of each species. This enables the fungal biomass to optimally colonize the growth medium.
• We steam-process all mushroom fruiting bodies and mycelial biomass batches prior to drying, so they’re ready to use out of the bottle.
• Our finished products are tested to ensure they contain consistent levels of beta-glucans, one of the most well-known beneficial constituents in mushrooms.
• Our products also undergo rigorous testing for pesticides, heavy metals, and microbial contamination.

All Mushroom Wellness products are backed by Dr. Christopher Hobbs, Ph.D., our Chief Scientific Officer. Dr. Hobbs is a published author and well-known herbalist and mycologist who has been a leading force in the herbal and mushroom industry for over 50 years.

Why do you use both the fruiting body and the mycelium of mushrooms?

We believe that both the mycelium and fruiting body offer many benefits and both parts are known to contain a variety of beneficial constituents. We produce products that contain all parts of the fungus, giving you Everything a Mushroom Has to Offer™.

What if I have dietary restrictions?

All our Mushroom Wellness products are non-GMO, vegan, dairy-free, tree nut-free, and peanut-free. They are also appropriate for a Paleo diet.
