Our Kava extract is prepared from the rhizome and root of noble varieties of Piper methysticum plants that are 4-6 years old. Our Kava is grown and harvested in Vanuatu, an island in the South Pacific.
Shake Well Before Using.
Adults: Add 1 squeeze of the dropper bulb to 2 oz. of water or juice, 2 to 5 times per day.
Best taken between meals.
FDA advises that a potential risk of rare, but severe, liver injury may be associated with Kava. Ask a healthcare professional before use if you have, or have had, liver problems, frequently use alcoholic beverages, or are taking any medication. Stop use and see a doctor if liver symptoms occur (unusual fatigue, abdominal pain, appetite loss, dark urine, pale stools, yellow eyes or skin).

We recommend you start at the lower end of the range for maintenance, and then adjust your serving frequency depending on your personal needs up to the higher end of the range. I have not had a chance to use yet decided to get it to help me sleep!
I tried the new formula a few years back and could definitely tell a difference. I much preferred the Pharma Kava blend. It was an extract from Kava lactones that had been extracted from the Kava rhizome.
Does Herb Pharm still produce the old formula? If so where can I find it?

Hi Bree - Thank you for sharing your feedback. Our "Pharma Kava extract" was simply renamed to "Kava extract" (the product you are looking at here) several years ago. No changes to the extraction methods or sourcing of our Kava have changed, only the name of the product changed. Both versions of the product use Kava rhizome with root.
