Exercise & Recovery Tips from Brandie

What are some simple exercises the average person can do at home to improve their fitness?

There is so much power in bodyweight training because it gives you a chance to better connect with your body. Doing things like squats, lunges, bird dogs, mountain climbers, and side planks are some of my favorites.

How can someone stay motivated to stick to a regular workout routine?

I think it helps to have…a goal for what you want to accomplish. [The] environment is key, finding a gym you want to spend time in and people you want to be around whether it’s the community, a trainer, or a friend.

What role do herbs play in your routine?

I include herbs in my daily routine around my mornings to ensure I start off feeling ready to train all the way to the evenings to help me relax. There’s something deeply satisfying about using nature’s power to fill in the gaps.

How do you balance intense training with rest and recovery?

Typically, I have to schedule it in. I literally make sure to block off parts of my days to either get physio, massage, sauna, or do nothing at all.
